I am going to get so drunk tonight...
Alexis and I are going to a little, quiet resort in Palm Springs this New Year's Eve. No big parties, no drunken fools...just peace and quiet. Whew...I really need it.
While there, I am going to create my gratitude list (I actually started it in one of my blog postings) and then I am going to write down my specific goals for 2008. I've already done some of this but I'm going to get very specific. And then, I am going to relax...really relax.
2007 has been the most difficult year of my life. But I learned a lot about myself. Some good things and some things that need work.
I want to thank everyone who not only hung in their with me but encouraged me. One of the most touching days of my business life was when I announced that I was getting divorced. The outpouring of support for me from my customers and subscribers was truly overwhelming. The blog posts, gifts that were mailed to me and notes of encouragement, really touched my heart. (If you sent me something or posted something THANK YOU. It meant a lot to me.)
As I look forward to 2008, of course, I want to grow my business and make more "dee-nero" but my main goal is to become a better man. Remember, as Jim Rohn says, "The greatest gift that you can give to someone else is your own self-development."
Happy New Year, my friend.

Time management made simple...
What a night!
I make sure I have plenty of time to do these things, the*really* important things in life. But in order to do that,I need to manage my time. Here is how I do it:
I always take 10-15 minutes in the morning to plan my day.
I simply write down the six most important things I need to do that day. Writing down just six things forces me to focus on what is truly important. I used to make a huge list of"to dos" but would then do the easy stuff so I could get the satisfaction of crossing things off my list. Many times, the important or "hard" stuff would never be gotten to.
After I determine what I'm going to do, I write down how much time I'm going to devote to that activity and block off that time on my calendar.
Now, this is where discipline comes in. Not only do I have to work on the projects at their scheduled times, I must stop working on them when the time for each project is up.I'm not very good at this! I get into a project and don't want to stop! The problem is, if I don't stop working on one thing, I can't get to the other important things!
Try this very simple time management system for the next few days and you'll see how powerful it is and how much your productivity goes up.
Kick butt, make mucho "dee-nero!"
~Dave Dee
P.S. Oh, one of the things I always put on my daily list is"lead generation." Dan Kennedy teaches that every day you should do a *least* one thing to generate new clients. he's right on the money. Of course, this is easy if you already have a complete lead generation system in place. I just so happen to have the BEST system on the planet, it's darn cheap and I put my money where my mouth is like no one else dares to do. Check it out pronto by going to:

Your #1 2008 Goal Should Be...
Yep, that should be your goal no matter how successful or busy you already are.
You need to keep the lead generation pipeline full and have ea system for converting those leads into sales. This is mission critical.
Businesses that aren't bringing in "fresh blood" on a continuous basis will find themselves stagnating and eventually dying.
In addition to obvious reasons for acquiring new customers(increased profits) there are also other important benefits. You are in a "power" position when there is demand for you than there is of you. You get to charge higher fees, dictate how you do business and you get a heck of a lot of respect.
So, write down your #1 goal on a piece of paper and put it on your bathroom mirror where you can see it every day. Then get to work and make it happen.
Kick butt, make mucho dee-nero!

PS. What's the simplest way to generate leads? Follow a proven system. With my "Your Marketing Department In A Box" not only do you get a lead generation system laid out for you on a silver platter but you get the actual marketing documents you need to implement the system. The most important secret to happiness
The truth is, I am rather melancholy this Christmas eve because it will be the first one I have ever spent alone. My children will be with my ex-wife and my family is miles away in Massachusetts.
But this is not supposed to be depressing but rather an essay on the biggest secret to happiness. It comes down to a single word: Gratitude.
Focusing on what we are already grateful opens the floodgates to receiving more. But that is not the goal of being grateful. Living with an attitude of gratitude makes you feel good and centers you.
My gratitude list (and yours) is so long it would be impossible to list everything but here is my top eleven (in no particular order).
1. My children: They are the greatest joy in my life and I am blessed to have them in my life.
2. My health: Is there anything more important than this?
3. My girlfriend: Alexis challenges me, makes me laugh, loves me and makes me very happy.
4. My parents: I teasingly cause them Ward and June (of "Leave It To Beaver" fame) but their caring, love and support (especially this past year) is a true blessing.
5. Tracey, my ex-wife and the mother of my children: This was an extremely tough year for both of us. But through it all she remained a great mother and my kids are lucky to have her.
6. Living in the United States of America: No disrespect for my international readers but my honest belief is I live in the greatest, most generous, compassionate and wonderful nation on earth.
7. My sisters: Amy and Sue were so supportive, caring and showed me unconditional love this past year.
8. The music, books, movies, seminars, and DVDs that enrich me and add immeasurable joy to my life.
9. My shelter, food and clothing: Things I take for granted but that other people long for.
10. My friends. Randy, who not only owns the best customer service company on the planet but who is also is a dear, caring friend. Gino, my best friend since I was seven years old who would do anything for me and who is always there when I need him the most.
11. My customers and clients. This is not pandering but truth. Without you, I could not live life exactly as I want to. Thank you for all of your support.
Have a wonderful and grateful Christmas season.
Warmly,
Dave Dee

Time to dig deep...
Actually, my kids and I are visiting my parents before the holidays. The kids are excited about the snow. Me, not so much!
A couple days ago, I was having a brief conversation with a woman who offers a very valuable service when people need it the most. To my shock, she was only charging $450. Believe me, what she does for her clients is worth WAY more than that. My advice to her was to raise her price to $2,500.
Her first reaction was, "No one will pay that!." Alexis and I immediately said we would pay that without blinking an eye. This brings up two important lessons:
First, there are always people looking for the lowest, cheapest price but, conversely, there are always people who will pay premium prices for premium services. You are far better off marketing to the premium people.
The second and bigger lesson, is that before this woman raises her prices she must believe that her service is worth more than the price she is charging. Believe me, $2,500 is chump change compared to what she does for people but it doesn't matter if she doesn't believe it. She must emotionally associate to the tremendous benefits her clients receive by using her services.
You need to do the same. Don't just think about what you do, think about how it impacts your clients lives in a positive way. Value yourself and what you do at a higher level. You are worth it.
Kick butt, make mucho dee-nero!

Majors and minors...muy importante
Anyhoo, I was talking to Alexis about major and minor benefits. It's important that you make the major benefits major and the minor benefits minor in your marketing. Let me give you a real life example.
Alexis' sister Courtney has a boyfriend who is really into the "green movement." He wants to be a green consultant to teach business owners how to "green their business." (Impact the environment as little as possible.) Because he believes so strongly in this movement, he thinks the major benefit is doing something good for the environment.
Wrong Bucko!
For most business owners that is a minor benefit. Major benefits would be, "By greening your business you will get great PR, reduce your costs and increase your profits." Now you have the business owners attention. Then, and only then you can talk about how greening the business is good for the environment. Here is an important distinction:
The business owner might tell his friends that the reason he is greening his business to help the environment because it makes him look good BUT the reason he is spending the money to do it , is to increase his profits. THAT is what will sell him on the idea.
Notice I did NOT say that the minor benefit wasn't important. It is. However, to making the minor benefit the focus of your marketing will bring you minor results.
Read this post again and then examine what you're doing. It's important.

Don't wait to do this...
First, because the resolutions are made on a whim and are really nothing but weak dreams.
Second, because making resolutions at the beginning of the New Year is too late!
You want to set your goals for 2008 NOW, BEFORE the new year begins. If you wait, you're already behind.
Notice I said, set "goals" not "resolutions." The truth is that you need to not only set goals but create an action plan for achieving the goal. This is what I call "success planning." Sure, it's more difficult to do than just making a long list of goals BUT it will also help you achieve your goals.
I'm thinking about doing an absolutely free "success planning" teleseminar next week if there is enough interest. During the call, we would set your goals and start to create your action plans right on the phone. This way, you are ahead of the game.
If you're interested, just make a quick post to the blog saying, "I want the teleseminar." That's all you need to do. It doesn't matter to me if I do the free call or not. I'm going to do my "success planning" for 2008 with or without ya!
Lemme know if you want to join me.

Do you believe this about people?
Okay, enough about my angst. Let's get down to "bidness"...
On Saturday, I sent out an email with a special promotion for my "Underground Power Marketing DVDs". (It's reprinted at the end of this post.) In it, I made an incredible offer: A 30 day free trial that was really free with free shipping. I did not collect a single penny. .
My customer service god and trusted advisor, Randy Shieff thought I was nuts for not validating the credit card. (And we have sold a boatload of these DVDs. The orders are literally pouring in.) I told him that all would be be fine because...
My heartfelt belief is that most people are inherently honest and do the right thing. Sure, there will be a few boneheads who will rip me off but the vast majority of people will not. In fact, I am 100% positive about that. So why not give all my customers the benefit of the doubt?
Isn't it a better way to live believing that most people are not out to rip you off? To believe in the goodness of people. Some people will call me naiive. I don't believe I am.
Now, I am NOT saying you shouldn't have contracts when you make a deal with someone or you shouldn't protect yourself. Not at all. But many people go around with the belief that everyone is out to screw them. If you offer a quality product or service, this simply will not be the case.
Am I saying you should offer your clients a free 30 day trail or some variation thereof? Not necessarily but it might be a damn good idea. What I'm saying is trust in the goodness and honesty of the majority of people you meet.

Secret Weekend DVD Sale Is On Now...
I know you're busy so I'm going to make this quick and to the point with no fanfare.

One and one thing only...
Let's talk about lead generation as a way of example. This type ad, email, radio commercial - whatever - should have one purpose only: Getting people to raise their hand and show that their interested in your product or service. The "hand raising" can take the form of the prospect calling a free recorded message, calling into the business directly, having the prospect visit a website, etc.
Many business owners screw-up because they try to make their lead generation ad do more than getting interested prospects to take a single action.
Remember, you are not selling your product or service in your lead generation marketing, you are selling people on requesting more information about your product or service. It's a subtle but powerful distinction.
So remember, figure out what each step in your marketing campaign is supposed to do and put your energy into make that one thing happen. Do this an your profits will soar.

The Power Of Mastery
By Dan Kennedy
-------------------------------------------------
I am about to tell you how to add $25,000.00, $50,000.00, maybe $100,00.00 a year to your yearly income — without spending even a penny more on advertising or marketing.
Anyway, one of our featured guest speakers was Michael Vance, who worked side-by-side with Walt Disney for a number of years. As I was listening to Mike, I made a mental note to start talking about a Walt Disney quote about marketing that I used to use a lot. This quote directly responds to what Michael asked me to write about this month: why you should master the "art" of doing the Printing Audit.
What Walt Disney said about Marketing is:"Do what you do so well — and so uniquely — that people can't resist telling others about you."
In every field, there are "masters". People just so darned good at what they do that people are compelled to tell others about them. Mike Vance is that kind of speaker, and there are darned few in that category. Actors like Paul Newman, Al Pacino, Robert DeNiro. The salesman I buy my cars from, Bill Glazner, at Sanderson Ford here in Pheonix — he puts every other car guy I've ever seen to shame.
There are a couple chiropractors I know who put on such a great "report of findings" (their equivalent of the Printing Audit) that they enjoy 100% conversions and can easily sell large dollar "pre-pays." There's a shoe-shine guy at the Atlanta Airport who still rubs wax in by hand, snaps the towel with authority, slaps the leather, makes the brush sing. And this is important: these people are "master performers." They are not just masters at whatever technical thing they do, they are masters at presentation.
So, here's a very simple, very practical question: after you finish a client's first job, do they — without any prodding from you - rush to the phone, call an associate, and tell them about the amazing print job they just had done? Are the first words out of their mouth to the next person they see about you? Is your presentation that good?
If it is, here's the economic impact: your need to invest money in acquiring new customers will diminish over time as your business converts to being 100% referral driven. This means you can take all the money you now spend on advertising, direct mail, telemarketing, etc. and put it into your pocket instead. This means you will have more people calling and waiting in line for you than you have time, because each client will multiply.
"Mastery of Presentation" can quite easily be worth an extra $50,000.00 to $200,000.00 or even more to you each year you remain in this business. (Bank it all at even modest interest and in just five years you can retire a cash millionaire.)
To get that good, you must dedicate yourself to doing so: I've always been impressed with the late Yul Brenner, who performed the "King and I" a record number of times on Broadway - and still rehearsed his lines, gestures and facial expressions everyday, before every performance, right up until his last one.
How many times have you written out your own,c omplete first on-site visit script word for word? Recorded it and listened to it on CD? Role-played it with family or mastermind group members? Practiced in front of a mirror? Ever? This month? (Well, who has the time to do all that, for crissakes? I've got a business to run here. And by the time I get home at day's end, I'm too exhausted to do anything like that.)
Get this: I can predict your future bank balances if I know what you read, what you listen to, what educational functions you attend, who you hang out with and what you work on (practice) regularly. Oh, and years ago, Joe Karbo wrote this wonderful ad headline: are you too busy making a living to make this a priority?

Bet you've never been asked this question...
We were discussing what her business was really about and how it's more than just making piles of dee-nero. I then used the term "soul of your business" and it stuck me how powerful thinking about your business in this way really is.
So let me ask you, "What is the soul of your business?"
Why are you doing what you are doing? Sure, it's to have a great lifestyle and to provide for your family but that's surface level stuff. I want you to dig deeper, much deeper and connect with the core meaning of your business - it's soul.
Let me give you an example from my business. The reason I do what I do is to help people turn what they are passionate about (and hopefully that's their business) into a profitable enterprise so they can live a life of joy, happiness and fulfillment. So they can do what they LOVE to do and provide leverage for their family and the world. There is NOTHING better for me than having someone tell me, with tears in their eyes, that I am helping them live the life of their dreams. Wow.
That is the soul of my business. So, again, I ask you, what is yours?
Kick butt, make mucho dee-nero!
Dave Dee
PS: If you are *really* passionate about what you do and want to increase the positive impact you have on the lives of your clients, then attending my "Profit Plan Workshop" at the very beginning of the new year is one of the smartest moves you can make. You will be working personally with me and the other 24 attendees to create your perfect success plan for 2008 AND developing the tools you need to put your plan into action. The story of a father and his son...
Tonight's the night we are going to do just that.
I was thinking of taking him to a strip club (That's a joke, by the way. I actually hate those places.) but decided to go to the Thrashers game with him instead. We are going to make a night of it. I booked a room at a very nice hotel near the arena, so we could stay in downtown Atlanta overnight.
I think I'm more excited than he is about this and he is pretty darn excited!
The point of all of this is I've structured my business so I can do things like this, on the spur of the moment. I've built my business around the lifestyle I wanted. I don't work for my business, my business works for me.
Some people would say I'm lucky to fly first class from Atlanta to California, first-class at least every other week and that I can take time off whenever I want, do do whatever I want. These same people would tell me that I was "lucky" to be able to afford to stay in a nice hotel, go to all the hockey games I want and sit in the best seats. But you know what?
"Luck" does not have a damn thing to do with it.
Sure, I acknowledge that I have some advantages that other people might not have. (By the way, having rich parents is NOT one of my advantages). On the other hand there are people with far greater advantages who have not accomplished squat. Conversely, there are people who had far less advantages than me but are kicking butt.
What's the difference that makes the difference?
Knowing what you want, making a plan for it and then working your ass off to make it happen.
Most people only dream about what they'd like their life to be about but never DO anything about making it a reality. They are either too lazy or unmotivated to get up off the couch.
There are also business owners, who work hard and think that's all they need to do to succeed. Yes, hard work is important BUT many business owners think "hard work" means working "in" the business instead of "on" the business.
For example, the guy who owns a restaurant thinks he's working hard to make his business better if he is spending time in the restaurant instead of getting out of the restaurant to think and plan for the growth of his business. This is where the real work and the highest leveraged payoff is.
Other business owners are too cheap or intellectually lazy to spend the time necessary to invest in themselves by reading books, attending seminars, hiring coaches, etc. They are even MORE lazy when it comes to developing strategy to take their business to the next level.
Yes, I think my business, the information marketing business is the perfect business. But that is because it fits the lifestyle that I want to have. YOU need to decide about how YOU want to live and spend time, energy and money designing your business around that.
Kick butt, make mucho dee-nero!

PS: Why not make 2008 your best year ever by planning out all of your marketing campaigns now AND get all the tools you need to create the vitally important elements of those campaigns? Do you think, if I helped you with that and even did some copywriting for you that it'd be easier and that you'd make a LOT more money? (Um, the answer is "FRIGGIN' YES!")

First you can fly to Atlanta and pay me $10,o00 for a day of private consulting. The problem is I have very few open days available.

Million dollar deals and more...
I flew to Richmond yesterday night and came back this morning. A quick trip but one that landed me an equity position is a fast growing and very well run company. I inked a deal with 'em that should net me a few million buckaroos over the next couple of years.
One the many great things this company does, is to chart out every process they have. For example, they made a visual representation of what happens after a lead is generated...and let me tell ya, there are a lot of steps!
Now, in order for them to put together he chart, they had to very carefully think through their entire marketing campaign. This is time consuming but the profit pay off is enormous.
At my Profit Plan Workshop in January, we are going to create your complete, personalized marketing plan AND lay create a comprehensive chart so you'll never have to wonder what is happening.

Rejection! Woo hoo!
Of course not, no one does however, rejection can be a powerful motivator. Why? Because every "no" you get is moving you closer to your goal.
Tony Robbins tells the store of how Colonel Sanders went door to door to restaurant owners pitching his fried chicken recipe. he was rejected hundreds and hundreds of times before getting his first "yes." Then before you know it, Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurants were popping up everywhere.
So what makes people keep moving forward in the face of massive rejection? Three words:
Passion. Mission. Belief.
Are you passionate enough about what you want to accomplish? Is your mission strong enough to help you through the tough times? Do you have enough belief in what you're doing AND in yourself to travel steadily toward your goal even when the inevitable storms set in?
I'm going to leave you today with a quote from Rod Stewart's song "Never Give Up On A Dream." (the actual song is beautiful, powerful and inspiring. You can download it now from
i-tunes for just .99. Do it and you'll thank me.) Read and feel these lyrics:
"If there's doubt and you're cold, don't you worry what the future holds. We've gotta have heroes to teach us all to never give up on a dream.
Claim the road, touch the sun,no force on earth could stop you run. When your heart bursts like the sun never never give up on a dream.
Shadows fall, daylight dies, freedom never got a place to hide. Search forever photo finish line but never give up on your dream.
Crazy notions fill your head, you gotta break all the records set.Push yourself until the end but don't you ever give up on your dream.

P.S. Recently, during a private coaching call, one of my clients asked me what my favorite Dan Kennedy product was.
That's a tough question to answer because I have 'em all and use 'em all. But after giving it some thought I said, "One of the most valuable Kennedy resources I own is The Ultimate Information Entrepreneur."
Then I quickly added, "This manual is a mess. It's made up of photocopies of stuff from Dan's private files, some of the references are outdated and it's ugly as hell. But, for anyone who wants to make a ton of dee-nero in the information marketing business, it is priceless."
My copy is highlighted, underlined, page corners folded over because I am constantly referring to it. It is a veritable gold mine, albeit a very homely goldmine.
If you don't own it, you need to get it. Check it out:

The difference that makes the difference...
My beloved Atlanta Thrashers came back by two goals down in the third period to tie the game with only minutes left and then won it in overtime.
After the scored the tying goal my best buddy Geno joyfully said, that's why you don't want to leave early to beat the traffic! How right he is.
Jim Rohn, talks about how sophisticated people do not leave the game early but stay until the very end.
This is a great metaphor for business. So many people start a business venture and when they meet a little bit of adversity, they quite. They "leave the game early."
If you create a solid game plan before you begin your venture, see it through until the end. Sure, make adjustments along the way if things aren't working but don't quit.
It is very rare for an entrepreneur to build something big and not have any setbacks or adversity. The difference between the winners and losers is winners fight to find a solution to their problems and losers quit.
Wherever you may find yourself today, don't give up.

PS: We are sold out of the deeply discounted "Market Dominator" systems. Thanks to everyone who ordered.

A simple & powerful strategy for you
But before I do that, I need to tell you I only have a dozen of my "Market Dominator" products left. This is a GREAT product that, for one reason or another, that just doesn't sell that well. I've been having a massive, deeply discounted clearance sale, and once the remaining products are gone, they are gone. If you have not secured your copy yet, do so right now. Go to http://www.davedee.com/dominator.
Okay, what is this simple strategy? It is the power of "thank you" notes.
I first learned this secret from sales trainer Tom Hopkins. Tom teaches to send a HANDWRITTEN thank you note to virtually everyone you meet who does anything for you in any way.
(Attention Inner Circle Members: You will get copyright free "thank you" note copy for almost every occasion in the July issue of the newsletter.)
When is the last time you got a real, handwritten thank you note from someone you've done business with or helped? Betcha it's been a long time. And if it has been recently, I betcha it made a huge impact on you.
So starting today or tomorrow, write 3 to 5 handwritten thank you notes and enclose your business card. Do this every single day and I promise you that the rewards will be far greater than this minimal effort.

The common success denominator...
FAST EXECUTION.
Daegan Smith, an seminar attendee of mine from a year ago, turned speaker at my recent event, learned a strategy from a presentation I did and implemented it that night. The next day he had made several thousands of dollars in sales.
Alexis Martin is one of the best executor of ideas and strategies I have ever seen. She discovers something and implements very quickly. That is why she went from zero in information marketing sales to over $26,000 a month in recurring, automatic sales.
Real estate guru, Ron LeGrand is at a meeting and Dan Kennedy suggests that he hire me to speak at his next event. At the first break, Ron is calling me on the phone to book me.
Most people hear a great idea and think, "Wow, that's a great idea." Superstar entrepreneurs hear the same idea and take immediate action on it.
Remember the key to success is not "knowledge." It is "applied knowledge."

P.S. Everyone who gave me input about what you wanted in a coaching program, should have already received your free gift via email. Again, I thank everyone who participated. Based upon many of your ideas, I have created the ULTIMATE mastermind/coaching program. It was unveiled at my last boot camp and 10 smart folks registered immediately. Details are coming soon...stay tuned.
PPS. Do you want your own "freemium?"
Freemiums, a term coined by marketing guru Bob Serling, are special products you can use to quickly increase your sales and profits.
Some of the ways you can use them to build your business include:
1. As bonuses with your products or services. 2. As items to attract more traffic to your web site. 3. Sell them as a product.
I have for a KILLER freemium that is on a major "hot button"topic that will generate a ton of interest. For complete details rush to:

Whew! I'm back!
I conducted a two day mastermind meeting and followed it with my boot camp which got tremendous reviews from the attendees. I'll be posting some video from the event soon, so stay tuned.
There are a lot of people who are passionate about what they do but don't have a clue as to how to turn those passions into profits. I drilled the following point home at the bootcamp:
"The number one mindset shift you MUST make is from being a 'doer' of your services to a 'marketer' of your services." This simple shift made a world of difference in my business life. Let me give you a couple a examples:
A dentist is a "Marketer of dental health."
A magician is a "Marketer of entertainment services."
A chiropractor is "Marketer of health services."
The reality of business is that you must be a tremendous marketer first. The best marketer wins. An unsavory fact that most "gurus" don't want to talk about is you CAN sell a mediocre product with great marketing. Don't get me wrong. I am NOT saying that you should sell a lousy product or service...but you can.
Start making the mindshift from being a "doer" of your services to a "marketer" of your services and watch your profits grow.

At the end of your rope? 3 cures...
Actually, if you're an entrepreneur who loves what he/she is doing, you should have that feeling almost every day. Of course, no matter how much you love what you do or how passionate you are about your mission, there will be times when you feel like you're at the end of your rope.
What do you do when your stress level is off the charts, when you're working you butt off, burning the midnight candle at both ends and feel like you just can't do anymore?
Glad you asked, 'cause Dr. Dee has some remedies for ya:
1. First, take a few minutes to breath. Breath in deep, powerful, calming breaths, fill your lungs completely and then release the breath slowly, emptying your lungs. Try to focus your attention on the inhalation and exhalation only. Take 10 of these breaths and your mind will be clearer, you'll feel more peaceful and you'll be more peaceful.
2. Take a 2o minute power nap. Think napping is just for kids? Wrong bucko! Some of the world's most powerful people including Albert Einstein, Napoleon Bonaparte, Thomas Edison and John F. Kennedy were nappers. Twenty minutes is all you need and you'll awake feeling great. Give yourself this gift.
3. Go for a walk or do something that totally frees up your mind. Walking is great but so is going to the movies. When I am really stressed out and need an extended break, I go to the movies. I LOVE the movies so this is a great diversion for me. Find something that you love to do, get away from it all.
Now, I can hear some people (especially one person and you know who you are) thinking, But, Dave, I don't have the time to do that stuff. You don't get just how busy I am!"
Hogwash, mi amigos. You don't have time NOT to do one of the three things I suggested. You notice that each one of my "remedies" takes a different length of time. Taking a little bit of time for yourself to clear you mind and rejuvenate your body will make you ten times more productive than if you just try to "power through" your stress levels and work, work, work.
Hot damn, this is one heck of an email newsletter you're gettin' for free!
Have a GREAT weekend.

What Controls Your Destiny, Happiness, & Wealth
Hogwash.
While it may be true that there are different price points for different market areas, unless you are at the top of the price scale, you can almost always get more money for your services.
For example: How come some lawyers only get $250 dollars an hour and other lawyers get ten times that amount for the same service? It all comes down to what you believe and your self-image.
If you believe you can't command more than a certain fee, you won't get it. If you self-image tells you that you can only reach a certain level, you will not go beyond that level.
Your self-image and your belief system is the MAJOR KEY to success. Raise your self-image and you'll raise your income.
The best book on improving your self-image is Psycho-cybernetics by Maxwell Maltz. It is readily available. Get it. Read it. Use it.

An important assignment for you...
Today I am going to give you an assignment that is downright scary and powerful. Read on and do then make sure you follow through!
A well crafted sales letter will produce more sales and leads for you, with the least amount of effort, than anything else you do.
If there is one area my subscribers need to work on, it is writing sales letters.
From what I've read, it doesn't seem like most people are spending serious thought, time, and effort into putting together a killer sales letter.
Here is a sales letter writing exercise that will have a profound effect on how much dee-nero you pocket and on the success of your business.
Imagine someone who you deeply love (your child, spouse, family member, or yourself) was being held hostage by a maniac. And this maniac was holding a gun to the head of your loved one and was going to pull the trigger...unless you wrote a letter selling your product or service that got incredible results. Now sit down and write that sales letter.
This is NOT a joke or a cute exercise. I am very serious about this. I want you to actually get into the state of having to write a sales letter that produced results or someone who you loved would be killed.
Mail this letter to yourself u in it's final form, exactly as you would is your loved one's life depended on it.
Remember: You are writing a sales letter that *must* work. What are you going to do to make it happen?
Kick butt, make mucho dee-nero!
Dave Dee
P.S. By the way, I'd also put some serious thought into how the letter is going to be delivered. The best sales letter is no better than the worst sales letter if it doesn't get read.
P.S. #2: One of the best and least expensive courses that teaches you a system for "writing any size paycheck you like, as often as you like" by writing killer copy is Dan Kennedy's little known "Copywriting Clinic." Check it out at: http://dankennedywebsite.com/copyclinic.htm

What to do when you're 0 and 8
Today though, I'd like to talk to you about my beloved Miami Dolphins...well sort of.
This once proud franchise has not won a game this season. In fact, they have lost eight in a row and I wouldn't be surprised to see them go winless. This team is horrible. So what does this have to do with success and moneymaking? Glad you asked!
Over the past five or so years, the Dolphins management has made one bad decision after another from hiring the wrong coaches to drafting the wrong players. Every year it seems, the Dolphins made a series of really bad moves. Now, they are seeing and feeling the result of their decisions
You see, most of the time success or failure is not the result of one event or one decision but rather the accumulation of your decisions. The guy says, "Oh, I'll just skip exercising today." The next day he still feels and looks good so he thinks, "Hey, I'll skip exercising today too!" Over time, this decision not to exercise will lead to a health disaster.
On the opposite side of the coin, a woman decides to start reading books related to her profession for 30 minutes every day. At first there are no visible results from this practice but over time she'll become more confident, become a respected expert in her field and make more dee-nero.
Today, decide on one simple success habit that, if engaged in consistently, will have a positive impact on you in the years to come.

You need this and I need your help...
Yesterday I had a coaching call. No, I did not "do" the coaching call, I paid for the call. There are three important reasons I did this. Here they are and then I'm going to ask for your help.
First, I practice what I preach. I pay a LOT of money getting coaching, attending seminars, buying other people's products, etc. School is never out for the real pro and I proudly say that I am a lifetime student.
Second all great masters from Anthony Robbins, to Dan Kennedy, to Tiger Woods, to me pay for coaching. Every successful person does. Period. They might not call it "coaching" they might say they hire "advisors" but it's basically the same thing.
Third, my call yesterday was extremely productive and enlightening. Not only because I got new insights but also because I got confirmation that I was on the right track.
Do you have a coach or belong to a real mastermind group? I'm tellin' ya it can catapult you to much greater success much faster than you can imagine.
I'm in the process of developing what will be the best coaching/mastermind group on the planet for small business owners. This thing is going to be spectacular and I need your help in making it so.
I WANT YOUR INPUT.
Please send an email to david@davedee.com with the *top three things* you'd want in a coaching program. Please use the subject line "Coaching Program Input." Everyone who does this is going to receive a killer book about how to radically increase your businesses profitability. (The book is really really good,)
Please take the time to do this now.
Gracias.

Is it okay to be "negative?"
But is it?
Surely, a positive person is more pleasant to be around than a negative person. Surely a positive person with an "I can" attitude is probably willing to try more things because they believe that they can accomplish more. (Note the word "probably." I know plenty of SOB's who have very successful businesses.)
On the other hand, the person who is always positive and lives in pollyannaville, no matter what the circumstances are or the reality of the situation, is going to struggle to be successful. Hell, I would love to be the starting goaltender for the Atlanta Thrashers but no amount of positive thinking is going to make that happen. There IS reality.
Even more dangerous is the person who surrounds themselves with "yes men." This person wants everyone around them to say "Your idea is GREAT!", "Wow, that is going to work!" "Yes, you can accomplish anything, boss!" Former boxer Mike Tyson paid someone to follow him around and say "You da man, Mike!" Mike Tyson is broke now because no one ever told him "no."
The person who is going to be the most successful is the pragmatist. The pragmatist is positive but does not ignore the negative or the reality of the situation. If he is going in the wrong direction, he recognizes it and makes changes. If he receives a piece of advice that is contrary to his thinking, he considers it and does not dismiss it because it's not "positive." The pragmatist believe that the best result will happen but plans for the worst.
Here is the key distinction: The pragmatist presents suggestions that could be perceived as being negative in a neutral light. For example, the boss wants to place a full page ad in the New York Times with a big picture of himself and his company's logo. The marketing director could say, "That is a horrible, horrible idea, boss!"
This is obviously going to meet with a negative reaction." The pragmatist would say, "Every single study down over the past 100 years shows that type of ad is not going to produce the results you want. I suggest we at least look at a different approach." Same suggestion but presented in a neutral way.
One of Napoleon Hill's keys to success was "accurate thinking." Most people who read "Think And Grow Rich" ignore this and instead only focus in on "if i believe it, I can thinking." The pragmatist is positive but also looks at the reality of the situation and makes his decisions based on that.

Why Working Hard Is Not Enough
By Yanik Silver
===================================
As I was sitting here writing out this newsletter we had a chimney repairman and a landscaper come out to the house. Out of my window I could see both of them doing their jobs.
Let me tell you these guys work *hard*.
Both of them get up very early in the morning and put in a full day's work. The chimney repairman is dangerously perched at least 50 feet above the ground for most of the day. And our neighborhood landscaper is breaking his back carrying heavy bags of mulch all day.
The point is these guys put in an honest day's labor for honest day's wage every day. They aren't sleeping on the job or goofing off. They're working their butts off - but that's not enough!
Do you know the big secret neither one of these fellows (or most other people) ever figure out?
It's so simple once you understand and it can have a profound effect on your wealth. Here it is...
Your income cannot be limited by the amount of hours you can put in. Each one of us are given 24 hours and it doesn't matter if you are a chimney repairman, landscaper, CEO, homeless bum, or Internet entrepreneur. We all have the same 24 hours to work with. Most people simply work -get paid, work - get paid, work - get paid. You put in 8 hours on the job - you get paid for 8 hours. You put in 40 hours a week - you get 40 hours in salary. That's the way we've been taught to do it - and the sad truth is you'll never get ahead doing what everyone else does (that's a lesson in itself).
You need to think about how you can turn more and more of your activities into ongoing revenue seeds. First you build one ongoing income stream and then another, and another and
another. Let me give you a real example from my business to illustrate this.
I created Instant Sales Letters (www.davedee.com/letters.html) in February 2000. Every single day we get orders for this product and at $40 - $55/pop it adds up. Last year this one site brought in Six Figures for me. I created the product once and now get paid over and over again (Though I have added to the letters and revised them several times.) Now think about
that. Work I did once keeps paying me every single day no matter what I do. That's a good deal.
Once that first stream is rolling - you can expand into another stream. For me, it came from people asking me how I grew Instant Sales Letters and made it so successful online so fast.
That's when I started teaching Internet marketing based on what I did not just reading about it or talking about it. So my second stream was a product called "Instant Internet Profits" (www.davedee.com/instantinternet.html). This was a complete guide I created that documented everything I did. That sold well and kept selling. And just a few months ago I totally revised it based on everything new I've learned in the last few years.
After "IIP", I went to work on creating additional products. Of course, some sell better than others but together they are responsible for bringing in millions and millions each year.
My thinking is squarely on how can I get the most leverage and ongoing income from any activity. For instance, if I do a teleconference series (like www.davedee.com/webcopy.html) then I will sell the LIVE calls for "x" amount and then have the calls recorded to turn it into a product I can keep selling for "y" amount. Then going even further, I could take excerpts from that product and use them as articles or free ebooks to be passed along to get additional business. Do you see how it works? Try to get paid over and over again for activities done once. Make that your mantra.
Now here's the warning. With all this said, don't get fooled by the idea nearly everyone gets. It goes something like this - "Well, if I can create 10 different products each making $1,000/month - I'll make $10,000 every month."
Yes, that's a great thought but what happens is you get sidetracked and lose focus working on more than one project at once.
Believe me, I fall for this trap also. Your best bet is to focus on product #1 first and *only* after you have that securely in place move along to product #2. Trust me, I realize there are so many opportunities available online that you want to grab each one - but the only thing you'll do is run around like a headless chicken.
You can see from my examples my multiple revenue streams consists of information products. I love info products because of all the incredible advantages.
But this advice will work just as well for any kind of passive revenue stream. I hope you spend some time to think about this.

Do what you teach, you fool...
I am a dumb ass.
Early this week, during a phone consultation with my private client, Marty Fogarty, I was admonishing him to tell stories in his emails and sales letters. He took my advice immediately and wrote a killer email.
Then Alexis pointed out to me, kinda harshly I might add :), that I had not told my story or the stories of any my speakers in any of my sales copy for my "Life Change Revolution Millionaire Maker Boot Camp." No stories at all.
Listen up mi amigo: The number way to sell whether in person, over the telephone or in print is with stories. What is the #1 best selling book of all time? If you answered, "The Bible", you are correct. And what is the Bible made up of? Correct again-stories!
So as my favorite speaker Jim Rohn says, "Listen very carefully to what I say. Just don't watch me too closely."

Let's return to good old American values...
But my message today is not about politics, it's about what it really takes to succeed. What I'm going to tell you is definitely not sexy, it won't sell millions of books and contains no new age success manifestation techniques. No, it comes down to the good old American value of:
Hard Work.
Pretty, exciting, eh? Maybe it's not, but it IS the truth.
Listen, I know and am friends with a lot of the moneymaking gurus who preach and sell "how to get rich quick" stuff. "Sit on your butt, eat potato chips, drink beer, watch football and become a millionaire" is one helluva good sales pitch. But it is not reality.
Everyone I know who is massively successful, works hard, really hard. Also, the happiest successful people I know, play hard. They have the ability to turn off work and just have fun.
The key to living the good life is to work harder and smarter and take time to enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Eight Millionaire Success Principles
"The life you have led doesn't need to be the only life you have."
- Anna Quindlen
=========================================
Today, I'm going to give you a valuable gift. In fact it has so much worth that I suggest you print this out and keep it in a place where you can refer back to it.
Here are eight fundamental principles of success that, if engaged in, will catapult you to the next level:
1. Ideas are meaningless unless you take action.Everyone has a ton of ideas. Execution is the only thing that matters.
2. Keep things simple. The more complicated something becomes the less likely it is to be successful and the less likely you are going to follow through.
3. Do what you love.
4. Design your life on paper and then create your business plan so that your business helps you to live the life you desire.
5. Ready-fire-aim. I've talked about this many times before. Take action immediately, don't wait until things are purpose. You need to get things done quickly.
6. Use the incredible power of your subconscious mind to help you achieve what you want and find solutions to your problems.
7. Be a lifetime learner. Invest in yourself and your education.
8. You must believe that you can be successful if you are going to be successful. What you can conceive and believe with EMOTION you can achieve.
Yup, these are simple concepts, but they are universal and extremely powerful.
Oftentimes we look for new and esoteric ways to change our lives when in reality all we have to do is follow the old, time proven principles of success.
Remember: Keep it simple.

If you are this person, you will prosper...
I've reprinted a classic story that reveals the single rarest characteristic found in humans.
People who live this characteristic rise rapidly to wealth and power, even if they start at the lowliest place imaginable. Entrepreneurs who can find or grow a few of these individuals are able to conquer the world.

Words of wisdom from The Boss...
To show me my prison was just an open cage
There were no keys no guards
Just one frightened man and some old shadows for bars."
-Bruce Springsteen, "Living Proof"
I'm a big Springsteen fan and I'm psyched to go see him live at the end of this month. I often quote The Boss in my Inner Circle newsletter. The reason is that many of his songs talk about life.
If you really contemplate the lyrics above, you will see that Bruce reveals the secret to success and what is holding many people back from getting what they really want.
"Anger and rage": So many people are angry and frustrated that they are aren't where they want to be be financially, physically, spiritually, etc.
"To show me my prison was just an open cage." Oftentimes we believe that we are locked into our circumstances with no way to escape. When, in reality, we just need to change our mindset and take different actions to change everything.
"There were no keys, no bars. Only one frightened man and some old shadows for bars." Wow. There is really nothing holding you back except your beliefs about what is possible. The shadows of past failures and/or past programming is what is keeping you locked up in your current circumstances. And what is it that you fear? Is it the fear of failure or the fear of success?
Most people don't want to engage in this type of deep introspection. But if you do, if you ask yourself the tough questions, the answers can put you on the road to greater success.
Have a great weekend!

Why most websites suck
Here is what your web site should accomplish. I'm going to make this real simple:
1. Secure a lead for you and/or
2. Make a sale
That's it! This web stuff is so easy, isn't it?
Okay, now let's say you've got a sales letter web site and you are driving your prospects to it. What happens if they don't buy right away?
Statistics show that it takes on average, 7 contacts, with a prospect to make a sale.
In direct mail we accomplish this with a series of letters, phone calls, etc. No problem. But if someone comes to your web site and doesn't book you right away, you're screwed, right?
Not if you can capture their contact information! Then you can send them a series of emails just like you would direct mail pieces. If you get their name and physical address, you can contact them offline. This is vitally important stuff!
Let me outline a quick strategy for you:
1. Someone comes to your web site
2. You offer them a free report via email that interests them and has value for them.
3. They opt in by giving you their name and email address. The free report is emailed to them.
4. You follow-up to sell them on hiring you.
Now, step #2 could easily be instead of a free report, you offer them a demo video. It doesn't matter. What matters is that you get their contact information.
If you don't make the sale or don't get the prospect's contact information for follow-up, everything you've done to drive the person to your web site is a waste.
How does your web site measure up?

Don't do it *just* for this...
For the people who don't know what their passion is, we are going to help them uncover it.
***BUT***
What I won't be encouraging people to do is to*just* start a business because they think it will make them mucho "dee-nero." Selecting a business *just* because of the profit potential is not the formula for long term success and fulfillment.
Notice the emphasis on the word *just."
You also can't start a business just because you love to do something. If there is not a market for what you are selling, then you are going to struggle.
The BEST combination is to do something you love that there is a market for. This means that you might need to "twist", "turn" and reshape what you love to turn it into a profitable business. Here's an example of what I mean.
Let's say that you love golf. Your dream job might be to be a professional golfer but if you shoot in the low 90's, the odds of you making this dream come true are slim. But what about opening up an online golf store or starting a golf information marketing business where you travel around the world playing the best courses and writing about it? (Don't laugh. There is a show on TV called the "Thirsty Traveller." This guy travels around the word and drinks!)
So figure out what you enjoy and then think about how you can turn that into a full or part time business. Now you are on your way to success.
If have a already turned your passion into profits, what is the single best piece of advice you would give someone just starting out? Post your answer to the blog.

Is all this metaphysical success stuff B.S.?
Today, I was interviewed by real estate guru Rachel Young. (Rachel is one of my featured speakers at my boot camp. If you haven't registered, do so now by going to http://www.davedee.com/bootcamp) During the interview, I had a revelation that I wanted to share with you.
A lot of motivational speakers talk about the "Law Of Attraction" and how the universe will deliver to you what you want as long as you ardently desire it. This is a warm, fuzzy mysterious sounding concept. It's nice to believe that you can just "think and grow rich." Unfortunately, if you just think about about being successful, eventually they will take your house away.
I do NOT completely buy into the law of attraction or any of the other metaphysical success stuff. In fact, I think most of it is hooey. But here is my revelation:
The purpose of affirmations, visualizations, and working on all the mental aspect of success is NOT because some mystical universal energy is going to help you succeed. It's because if your mindset is not correct, if you don't BELIEVE that you can achieve what you desire, you will not take the necessary ACTIONS to make it happen. All the mental stuff is designed so you will take the actions necessary to achieve what you want.
You attract what you want by the actions you take NOT because of what you think. BUT your mindset needs to be right in order for you to take those actions.
Of course, my very logical theory is not as "sexy" or "mysterious" as "visualize what you want and universal intelligence will plop it into your lap" but it is very practical.
I'm very interested in your thoughts. Post 'em to the blog.
Kick butt, make mucho dee-nero!
