Bet you've never been asked this question...
We were discussing what her business was really about and how it's more than just making piles of dee-nero. I then used the term "soul of your business" and it stuck me how powerful thinking about your business in this way really is.
So let me ask you, "What is the soul of your business?"
Why are you doing what you are doing? Sure, it's to have a great lifestyle and to provide for your family but that's surface level stuff. I want you to dig deeper, much deeper and connect with the core meaning of your business - it's soul.
Let me give you an example from my business. The reason I do what I do is to help people turn what they are passionate about (and hopefully that's their business) into a profitable enterprise so they can live a life of joy, happiness and fulfillment. So they can do what they LOVE to do and provide leverage for their family and the world. There is NOTHING better for me than having someone tell me, with tears in their eyes, that I am helping them live the life of their dreams. Wow.
That is the soul of my business. So, again, I ask you, what is yours?
Kick butt, make mucho dee-nero!

The story of a father and his son...
Tonight's the night we are going to do just that.
I was thinking of taking him to a strip club (That's a joke, by the way. I actually hate those places.) but decided to go to the Thrashers game with him instead. We are going to make a night of it. I booked a room at a very nice hotel near the arena, so we could stay in downtown Atlanta overnight.
I think I'm more excited than he is about this and he is pretty darn excited!
The point of all of this is I've structured my business so I can do things like this, on the spur of the moment. I've built my business around the lifestyle I wanted. I don't work for my business, my business works for me.
Some people would say I'm lucky to fly first class from Atlanta to California, first-class at least every other week and that I can take time off whenever I want, do do whatever I want. These same people would tell me that I was "lucky" to be able to afford to stay in a nice hotel, go to all the hockey games I want and sit in the best seats. But you know what?
"Luck" does not have a damn thing to do with it.
Sure, I acknowledge that I have some advantages that other people might not have. (By the way, having rich parents is NOT one of my advantages). On the other hand there are people with far greater advantages who have not accomplished squat. Conversely, there are people who had far less advantages than me but are kicking butt.
What's the difference that makes the difference?
Knowing what you want, making a plan for it and then working your ass off to make it happen.
Most people only dream about what they'd like their life to be about but never DO anything about making it a reality. They are either too lazy or unmotivated to get up off the couch.
There are also business owners, who work hard and think that's all they need to do to succeed. Yes, hard work is important BUT many business owners think "hard work" means working "in" the business instead of "on" the business.
For example, the guy who owns a restaurant thinks he's working hard to make his business better if he is spending time in the restaurant instead of getting out of the restaurant to think and plan for the growth of his business. This is where the real work and the highest leveraged payoff is.
Other business owners are too cheap or intellectually lazy to spend the time necessary to invest in themselves by reading books, attending seminars, hiring coaches, etc. They are even MORE lazy when it comes to developing strategy to take their business to the next level.
Yes, I think my business, the information marketing business is the perfect business. But that is because it fits the lifestyle that I want to have. YOU need to decide about how YOU want to live and spend time, energy and money designing your business around that.

You've got two choices:

Million dollar deals and more...
I flew to Richmond yesterday night and came back this morning. A quick trip but one that landed me an equity position is a fast growing and very well run company. I inked a deal with 'em that should net me a few million buckaroos over the next couple of years.
One the many great things this company does, is to chart out every process they have. For example, they made a visual representation of what happens after a lead is generated...and let me tell ya, there are a lot of steps!
Now, in order for them to put together he chart, they had to very carefully think through their entire marketing campaign. This is time consuming but the profit pay off is enormous.
At my Profit Plan Workshop in January, we are going to create your complete, personalized marketing plan AND lay create a comprehensive chart so you'll never have to wonder what is happening.
Register for this exclusive 25 person workshop where you will get my PERSONAL help to make 2007 the most lucrative and fun year of your business career. Get all the details at:

Rejection! Woo hoo!
Of course not, no one does however, rejection can be a powerful motivator. Why? Because every "no" you get is moving you closer to your goal.
Tony Robbins tells the store of how Colonel Sanders went door to door to restaurant owners pitching his fried chicken recipe. he was rejected hundreds and hundreds of times before getting his first "yes." Then before you know it, Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurants were popping up everywhere.
So what makes people keep moving forward in the face of massive rejection? Three words:
Passion. Mission. Belief.
Are you passionate enough about what you want to accomplish? Is your mission strong enough to help you through the tough times? Do you have enough belief in what you're doing AND in yourself to travel steadily toward your goal even when the inevitable storms set in?
I'm going to leave you today with a quote from Rod Stewart's song "Never Give Up On A Dream." (the actual song is beautiful, powerful and inspiring. You can download it now from
i-tunes for just .99. Do it and you'll thank me.) Read and feel these lyrics:
"If there's doubt and you're cold, don't you worry what the future holds. We've gotta have heroes to teach us all to never give up on a dream.
Claim the road, touch the sun,no force on earth could stop you run. When your heart bursts like the sun never never give up on a dream.
Shadows fall, daylight dies, freedom never got a place to hide. Search forever photo finish line but never give up on your dream.
Crazy notions fill your head, you gotta break all the records set.Push yourself until the end but don't you ever give up on your dream.
Now listen to me, you don't need no restrictions yeah. Oh, sing it again you can't live on sympathy. You just need to go the distance,oh the distance that's all you need to be free,to be free, to be free, to be free.
Sing a song for me children you don't need no restrictions yeah you can't live on sympathy. You just need to go the distance, that's all you need to be free, Now listen to me!
Inspiring all to never lose,it'll take a long long time before they fill your shoes it'll take somebody, somebody, who's lot like you who never gave up on a dream. No, you never gave up on a dream no, you never gave up on a dream. You never, never, never, never gave up on a dream."

P.S. Recently, during a private coaching call, one of my clients asked me what my favorite Dan Kennedy product was.
That's a tough question to answer because I have 'em all and use 'em all. But after giving it some thought I said, "One of the most valuable Kennedy resources I own is The Ultimate Information Entrepreneur."
Then I quickly added, "This manual is a mess. It's made up of photocopies of stuff from Dan's private files, some of the references are outdated and it's ugly as hell. But, for anyone who wants to make a ton of dee-nero in the information marketing business, it is priceless."
My copy is highlighted, underlined, page corners folded over because I am constantly referring to it. It is a veritable gold mine, albeit a very homely goldmine.
If you don't own it, you need to get it. Check it out:

The difference that makes the difference...
My beloved Atlanta Thrashers came back by two goals down in the third period to tie the game with only minutes left and then won it in overtime.
After the scored the tying goal my best buddy Geno joyfully said, that's why you don't want to leave early to beat the traffic! How right he is.
Jim Rohn, talks about how sophisticated people do not leave the game early but stay until the very end.
This is a great metaphor for business. So many people start a business venture and when they meet a little bit of adversity, they quite. They "leave the game early."
If you create a solid game plan before you begin your venture, see it through until the end. Sure, make adjustments along the way if things aren't working but don't quit.
It is very rare for an entrepreneur to build something big and not have any setbacks or adversity. The difference between the winners and losers is winners fight to find a solution to their problems and losers quit.
Wherever you may find yourself today, don't give up.

PS: We are sold out of the deeply discounted "Market Dominator" systems. Thanks to everyone who ordered.

A simple & powerful strategy for you
But before I do that, I need to tell you I only have a dozen of my "Market Dominator" products left. This is a GREAT product that, for one reason or another, that just doesn't sell that well. I've been having a massive, deeply discounted clearance sale, and once the remaining products are gone, they are gone. If you have not secured your copy yet, do so right now. Go to http://www.davedee.com/dominator.
Okay, what is this simple strategy? It is the power of "thank you" notes.
I first learned this secret from sales trainer Tom Hopkins. Tom teaches to send a HANDWRITTEN thank you note to virtually everyone you meet who does anything for you in any way.
(Attention Inner Circle Members: You will get copyright free "thank you" note copy for almost every occasion in the July issue of the newsletter.)
When is the last time you got a real, handwritten thank you note from someone you've done business with or helped? Betcha it's been a long time. And if it has been recently, I betcha it made a huge impact on you.
So starting today or tomorrow, write 3 to 5 handwritten thank you notes and enclose your business card. Do this every single day and I promise you that the rewards will be far greater than this minimal effort.

The common success denominator...
FAST EXECUTION.
Daegan Smith, an seminar attendee of mine from a year ago, turned speaker at my recent event, learned a strategy from a presentation I did and implemented it that night. The next day he had made several thousands of dollars in sales.
Alexis Martin is one of the best executor of ideas and strategies I have ever seen. She discovers something and implements very quickly. That is why she went from zero in information marketing sales to over $26,000 a month in recurring, automatic sales.
Real estate guru, Ron LeGrand is at a meeting and Dan Kennedy suggests that he hire me to speak at his next event. At the first break, Ron is calling me on the phone to book me.
Most people hear a great idea and think, "Wow, that's a great idea." Superstar entrepreneurs hear the same idea and take immediate action on it.
Remember the key to success is not "knowledge." It is "applied knowledge."

P.S. Everyone who gave me input about what you wanted in a coaching program, should have already received your free gift via email. Again, I thank everyone who participated. Based upon many of your ideas, I have created the ULTIMATE mastermind/coaching program. It was unveiled at my last boot camp and 10 smart folks registered immediately. Details are coming soon...stay tuned.
PPS. Do you want your own "freemium?"
Freemiums, a term coined by marketing guru Bob Serling, are special products you can use to quickly increase your sales and profits.
Some of the ways you can use them to build your business include:
1. As bonuses with your products or services. 2. As items to attract more traffic to your web site. 3. Sell them as a product.
I have for a KILLER freemium that is on a major "hot button"topic that will generate a ton of interest. For complete details rush to:

Whew! I'm back!
I conducted a two day mastermind meeting and followed it with my boot camp which got tremendous reviews from the attendees. I'll be posting some video from the event soon, so stay tuned.
There are a lot of people who are passionate about what they do but don't have a clue as to how to turn those passions into profits. I drilled the following point home at the bootcamp:
"The number one mindset shift you MUST make is from being a 'doer' of your services to a 'marketer' of your services." This simple shift made a world of difference in my business life. Let me give you a couple a examples:
A dentist is a "Marketer of dental health."
A magician is a "Marketer of entertainment services."
A chiropractor is "Marketer of health services."
The reality of business is that you must be a tremendous marketer first. The best marketer wins. An unsavory fact that most "gurus" don't want to talk about is you CAN sell a mediocre product with great marketing. Don't get me wrong. I am NOT saying that you should sell a lousy product or service...but you can.
Start making the mindshift from being a "doer" of your services to a "marketer" of your services and watch your profits grow.

At the end of your rope? 3 cures...
Actually, if you're an entrepreneur who loves what he/she is doing, you should have that feeling almost every day. Of course, no matter how much you love what you do or how passionate you are about your mission, there will be times when you feel like you're at the end of your rope.
What do you do when your stress level is off the charts, when you're working you butt off, burning the midnight candle at both ends and feel like you just can't do anymore?
Glad you asked, 'cause Dr. Dee has some remedies for ya:
1. First, take a few minutes to breath. Breath in deep, powerful, calming breaths, fill your lungs completely and then release the breath slowly, emptying your lungs. Try to focus your attention on the inhalation and exhalation only. Take 10 of these breaths and your mind will be clearer, you'll feel more peaceful and you'll be more peaceful.
2. Take a 2o minute power nap. Think napping is just for kids? Wrong bucko! Some of the world's most powerful people including Albert Einstein, Napoleon Bonaparte, Thomas Edison and John F. Kennedy were nappers. Twenty minutes is all you need and you'll awake feeling great. Give yourself this gift.
3. Go for a walk or do something that totally frees up your mind. Walking is great but so is going to the movies. When I am really stressed out and need an extended break, I go to the movies. I LOVE the movies so this is a great diversion for me. Find something that you love to do, get away from it all.
Now, I can hear some people (especially one person and you know who you are) thinking, But, Dave, I don't have the time to do that stuff. You don't get just how busy I am!"
Hogwash, mi amigos. You don't have time NOT to do one of the three things I suggested. You notice that each one of my "remedies" takes a different length of time. Taking a little bit of time for yourself to clear you mind and rejuvenate your body will make you ten times more productive than if you just try to "power through" your stress levels and work, work, work.
Hot damn, this is one heck of an email newsletter you're gettin' for free!
Have a GREAT weekend.

What Controls Your Destiny, Happiness, & Wealth
Hogwash.
While it may be true that there are different price points for different market areas, unless you are at the top of the price scale, you can almost always get more money for your services.
For example: How come some lawyers only get $250 dollars an hour and other lawyers get ten times that amount for the same service? It all comes down to what you believe and your self-image.
If you believe you can't command more than a certain fee, you won't get it. If you self-image tells you that you can only reach a certain level, you will not go beyond that level.
Your self-image and your belief system is the MAJOR KEY to success. Raise your self-image and you'll raise your income.
The best book on improving your self-image is Psycho-cybernetics by Maxwell Maltz. It is readily available. Get it. Read it. Use it.
