A Lesson from a Rockstar Legend
Ever since I heard "Maggie May" on the radio back
in the 70's my all time favorite performer has been
and still is Rod Stewart.
Last month he released an INCREDIBLE four CD set
titled, "Sessions." This consisted of never before
released songs, stripped down versions of songs,
and alternative versions of classic tunes. (You have
to hear the impromptu version of "Maggie" where Rod
makes up different lyrics.)
Later this month, he is releasing "Soulbook" which
will consist of Rod singing classic soul music.
He was recently asked why he hasn't done an album of
original songs is such a long time. His answer is
very instructive:
"There's not many songwriters at my age still trying
to release albums of their own music, and I'm not
planning on it myself. Paul Simon, Elton John, the
Rolling Stones have all penned their new records, and
all the critics loved them, but they just didn't sell.
When you get too old, people don't want to play your
songs on the radio, so you have to go about it in a
different way... I love doing these concept records.
Love it. There's not many like me."
Okay, here are the marketing, moneymaking, and
entrepreneurial lessons from Rod:
1. The purpose in business is to make dee-nero. In
order to make dee-nero, you need to sell people what
they want to buy, not what you think they should
want to buy.
2. Don't listen to your critics. The only vote that
matters is the one that comes from the marketplace.
3. Be willing to change your strategy to adapt to
changing circumstances. Don't be so set in your ways
that you go down with a sinking ship.
4. Do what you love...regardless of what other people
think. Oftentimes when you do what you love, enough
other people will love it to and help make you rich.
5. Be unique but don't reinvent the wheel. Although
Rod's past few albums and his new one consists entirely
of covers, he puts his own, unique twist on them so
they become his.
Pretty good stuff, wouldn't you agree?
I would love to hear your comments. Please go and post
them on my blog at: http://www.davedee.com

Dave & Sushi Part II
A couple months ago, I told you about my first
sushi experience in LA and how, after almost
blowing chunks after eating a "hand roll," I
dashed off to In and Out Burger for some good
'ole American Fast Food.
For some reason unbeknownst to me, I went to
the Atlantic Seafood Company in Atlanta (the
sushi capital of the world) and at the last
minute decided to order a sushi entree -- minus
anything with salmon. (I despise salmon.)
What was I thinking? Had I lost my mind?
Believe or not I really enjoyed it. In fact,
I had it again on Sunday in Atlanta and then
last night in LA. (I must say, that the sushi
I had in Atlanta was the best so far.)
You might be wondering what the heck this has
to do with marketing and business building. The
truth is, I was wondering the same thing when I
started writing to you, but there is a definite
lesson in this "raw fish tale." Here 'tis:
I often hear business owners say that they "tried"
direct mail, or Google Adwords, or banner
advertising, or email marketing or... well you
get the point -- and that it "just doesn't work."
How naive is that statement? Of course all of those
marketing methods work. They are all proven and, in
the case of direct mail, have been used effectively
for decades.
The problem is not the marketing methods, the problem
is with the business owner's marketing and their utter
lack of attention to it.
You can't expect to throw together something, "try" it
one time, and think that business is going to just
start pouring in. It doesn't work that way.
You need to develop a marketing plan and stick with it,
giving all the marketing methods in your plan a
legitimate shot at success. This means test, test,
test and track, track, track your results.
Also, if you're not good at marketing your business
you have one of two options:
1. Study marketing and get good at it. This requires
an investment of time and money but there is NO HIGHER
LEVERAGE activity you can engage in.
2. Hire someone who is good at marketing to do it for
you. Although this won't require as much of a time
commitment as option #1, it will require a greater
investment in money -- but, again, the payoff can be
huge -- in fact, it can be life changing.
For the first time ever, I will be offering a "We Do It
For You" marketing service where I will create all of
the marketing materials for a select group of clients.
My plan is to roll this out in the next couple of
months. Clients will be accepted by application only
and this program will be *very* limited. I'll give
you more details as they become available.
Regardless of whether you do it yourself or hire a
pro to do your marketing for you, you must "try" all
the marketing methods on your plan more than once.
Just like with my sushi experience, you need to try
different marketing methods more than once -- if you
do, the results can be delicious.
To your success and fulfillment,
~Dave Dee
P.S., If you have thoughts to share re: this email,

What Happens When You Become Successful...
As I write to you, I'm flying to LA to speak at a seminar.
What's really cool is that I'll once again get to perform
my Comedy, Mindreading & ESP show. (I just did the show a
couple weeks ago at the Triple X Factor Bootcamp - to a
standing ovation I might add.) Although I don't get a
chance to perform that often, I love it when I do.
Emails, in response to yesterday's newsletter about the
movie Paranormal Activity, are pouring in. I'll be
publishing some of the comments for you to read later
this week. (I've got some really smart subscribers!)
Because of the tremendous success of Paranormal Activity,
you can count on there being a zillion, inferior knocks-offs
of the movie. More than likely, these "Paranormal Wannabes"
will blow chunks precisely because they are copies of the
original.
When I started dominating the birthday party market as a
magician (and DOMINATE it I did), my signature trick to
create a "wow" experience was to float the birthday child
in the air. Well guess what happened? Yep, soon thereafter
my competitors also started to advertise that they did a
floating illusion in their show.
When I started advertising with powerful direct response
marketing strategies, like using the headline, "Make Your
Child's Party Unforgettable", guess what happened? Right,
other magicians started using that as well.
When I started running copy intensive full-page ads in
magic magazines advertising a free report about teaching
magicians how to book more gigs, guess what happened? All
of a sudden other magicians claiming they were marketing
experts came out of the woodwork and tried to knock me off.
Ray Kroc of McDonalds' fame was once asked how he felt about
his competitors copying everything he did. He response was
classic:
"We simply invent new things faster than they can copy."
There is a famous, and quite frankly brilliant, marketing guru
who teaches his students to "steal and deploy" other people's
marketing strategies. Many people misinterpret this to mean
literally copy what their competitors are doing. This is NOT
at all what he means.
What you want to do is look at what other successful people
are doing OUTSIDE of your own industry and MODEL what they
are doing. (By the way, there is a huge different between
"modeling" and "stealing.")
When you're successful, you can make a virtual certain bet
that your competitors are going to start copying you. You
can get mad, or follow Ray Kroc's advice and invent faster
than they can copy.
To your success and fulfillment,
~Dave Dee
P.S., Do you own my course on email marketing? If not, let
me be blunt -- that is an error in judgment. At my bootcamp,
one woman said she started using the strategies I taught and
generated 17 referrals in one month. This course rocks and
will work for you... but you need to get it. Go to:

What my broken CD player has to do with your success
For about a year, the CD player in my car has not been
working and I've just been too darn busy to get it fixed.
Yesterday, I decided to give the old CD player another shot
and slipped in a Melissa Etheridge CD. Lo and behold it
played! Somehow it magically fixed itself.
So I drove happily down the road with Melissa cranking in
the background.
One of the reasons I love Melissa is the absolute passion
she puts into her singing and songwriting. She can bring you
to tears, fire you up, and make you think... all in the same
song!
How 'bout you, do you have a passion for what you do? Did
you once have a passion and then lose it? Did you never have
it and are now just doing what it takes to get by?
It is almost impossible to succeed at the highest level
without that passionate "reason why" you are doing something.
So even if you don't currently love what you're doing for
work right now, find a reason to be passionate about why
you are doing it. Maybe it's to provide a better life for
your family. Maybe it's to fund a charity you believe in.
One way to ignite the passion for your work is to every day
grasp what it is you really do and the real affect your
actions have on your clients.
For example, an entertainer is not just entertaining, he
is adding joy and lifetime memories to people's lives.
The insurance agent isn't just selling insurance, he is
securing the future for families.
Really feel on an emotional level the great benefits you
give to your clients by doing what you do. Feel it.
Believe it.
To your success and fulfillment,
~Dave Dee

Profits"? If not, check it out at:

The easiest way to convert leads to sales
With my Platinum Mastermind meeting happening on Wednesday
and Thursday, followed by the sold-out Triple X Factor
Bootcamp happening Friday through Sunday, I'm busier than
Santa on Christmas Eve!
But I wanted to send you a quick email about the best and
easiest way to convert leads into sales. (Over the next
couple of months, I will be going in-depth on this subject.
This is just brief overview to get you thinking,)
As you are aware, people are more cautious when spending
their money these days. They are also more skeptical about
the claims of business owners and with good reason.
However, you can overcome both of those obstacles with
"education-based marketing." By educating your prospects
before they ever come to see you, you will automatically
have a higher closing percentage, increase your profits,
and have better clients.
I just created a massive marketing campaign for a private
client. The entire campaign revolved around getting prospects
to request a comprehensive information kit. (Of course, I gave
it a better name than that!)
This information kit clearly established my private client
as the expert, set the buying criteria, and educated the
prospect so by the time they meet with my client, they are
pre-disposed to doing business with him.
Sure, it is easier to simply place an ad and have the call
to action be a direct call to your office -- but it's not the
most EFFECTIVE way. What you want in your marketing is
effectiveness and efficiency. Education-based marketing helps
you accomplish both of those goals.
Have a fantastic day.
~Dave Dee
P.S., One of the best, cheapest. and fastest ways to start
educating your prospects and clients is with a blog. Learn

SOLD OUT: Triple X Factor: Path To Excellence Boot Camp
Just a quick note to let you know ... all seats for
our "Triple X Factor: Path To Excellence Boot Camp"
have been sold!
The response over the past couple weeks has been
frankly overwhelming -- we honestly wish we could've
kept the doors open longer, but as we've said this
is an intimate working event in which attendees will
receive hands-on working time with us actually doing
what's necessary to take their business to the next
level.
We are putting the final touches on our presentations
and business exercises -- for those of you who will
be there with us, hold on to your hats, this is flat
out going to be one amazing, transformational event!
This workshop puts together the best of the processes
that each of us has worked through in our own businesses
over the past ten years. We created this event to be
exactly what we each wish we would have had when we
were ready to take our own businesses to the next level.
If you are now kicking yourself because you didn't get
your ticket and would like to be put on a waiting list for
this event (just in case someone drops out at the
last minute) simply send an email to support@daveandalexis.com
and we'll put you in line.
And finally, congratulations to all who've registered --
we are so overjoyed to see each and every one of you next week!

A dirty little secret about social media...
Just like my kids, I want every business I launch to grow
up to be strong, healthy, and well-rounded.
When it comes to marketing, you want a strategy that is
going to give you a steady flow of leads that are excited
to hear from you, buy from you, and tell their friends to
do the same. Luckily, that's what I specialize in, so get
out your notepad because I'm about to tell you a VERY
important secret.
What's the opposite of strong, healthy, and well-rounded?
Weak, fragile, and narrow-minded. I wouldn't want my kids
to grow up that way, and I sure don't want to grow a
business to have it crumble under its own weight.
The key to growing a robust business really comes down
to marketing. Without that steady influx of leads you're
likely to be hobbling along like all the other business
that will expire like a candle this month.
How do you make your marketing robust? Just like you want
your kids to eat from ALL the major food groups, and get
smart in ALL the types of intelligence, you want your
business to embrace ALL the best marketing strategies.
Here is a dirty little secret you will hear from neither
the Social Media gurus, nor the old die-hard direct-response
mailguys that I learned from:
You need both.
That's right. In this day and age, if you don't have a
presence on Facebook and Twitter, you're pre-historic. Yet,
if all you do is spend your days surfing social media looking
for clients, that's like swimming through the water all day
looking for a fish to net.
What you want is to attract and retain clients with a hybrid
marketing strategy that includes:
1.) A solid base of Direct Response Mail - postcards,
letter campaigns, and of course, a monthly newsletter (the
traditional stuff that WORKS)
2.) A regular email contact similar to the emails you
receive from me - at least weekly, as much as daily
3.) A consistent presence on the top social media sites -
Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn
The real power comes when you get them all working together.
Things really start cooking when someone finds you on social
media and signs up for your email list. Or when someone gets
your direct mail and follows you on Twitter because you list
that as a contact option. It's list building, but it's a more
interactive list.
The best is when someone signs up for your newsletter and
gives you their address on your landing page because they
followed a link you posted on Twitter or Facebook. I love
when that happens! Social media is just like a big mouth on
a marketing funnel.
Here's a great tip - in your emails you want to lead people
to your social media profiles so they can check you out and
really get a feel for you. Put links to your social media
profiles in your emails! It's a much more personal form of
communication, and people feel like they're getting "more"
of YOU when there are pictures and real-time interaction.
It's amazing how much of your personality and expertise can
be conveyed on social media. Prospects you gain there will
be some of your best because they've pre-screened themselves
to be a good "fit." They like you, know you, and want to do
business with YOU.
If you do all these together, each one of them, you will
have a business that grows up healthy, strong, and has a
well-rounded base to keep it stable when the storms in life
come a-blowin.

Are You In the Running for a Scholarship???
Applications to apply for a scholarship to attend the
Dave & Alexis "Triple X Factors: The Path To Excellence
Boot Camp" are coming in at a steady clip. We are going
to have a tough time deciding which ten people get awarded
a scholarship.
There have been two responses we did not expect.
The first was from a small number of people who wanted to
know, "What's the catch?" They were inferring that we have
some ulterior motive in giving away ten tickets to our event.
Our only "motive" is to help people. It is our mission and the
scholarship program helps us achieve that. We like giving back.
That's it.
The second response was that ticket sales actually INCREASED
since we made the scholarship announcement. That just goes to
prove what I've always said, "The great majority people are
inherently honest." (Tickets are running very low but you can
still get one by going to http://budurl.com/DA3X09)
Here is the original post for your convenience: Original Post
Remember that scholarship applications are due TOMORROW by
5:00 PM ET!!!
See you at the Event!

Let me show you something that will DIRECTLY impact your success!
Hey guys,
Just wanted to talk to you real quick about the Triple X Factors event coming up that Alexis and I are hosting.
Guys, let's be real with each other. Times are tough. We all know this. You're probably noticing that the tactics you used before so successfully just aren't pulling in the same amount of profit as they used to. You're getting more people telling you, "We'll think about it," or "not right now," or "We'll let you know." It's not just you, it's EVERYONE that doesn't truly understand what it takes to thrive their businesses despite what's going on in the economy and with their competition.
It doesn't matter if you are running a restaurant, a law firm, a chiropractic office or plumbing business, dental practice, accounting practice, coaching or consulting business, or any other business in which you serve people...The Triple X Factors have been PROVEN and TESTED for results, no matter what field you are in and regardless of the tough times we are facing today, and that's why we're sharing them with you at this incredible event.
Here's a brief outline of the event we put together for you.
Day 1: Be the expert
• You'll clearly identify - Who is your market, really?
• How to use education based/relationship marketing to become the expert in your market
• How to create and design your sales and marketing funnel
• How to build web pages guaranteed to get people to give you their contact information
• Learn to tie together 21st century and old school media and technologies to continually reinforce that you ARE the expert
Day 2 - Create the WOW Experience
• The power of using simple storyboarding techniques
• How to make your fee quote part of the experience
• An interactive workshop where you'll redefine the specific steps you must take to make it a total, complete, and WOW adventure start to finish.
• You'll generate a detailed and realistic action plan to create the WOW experience in
• You’ll have a system for ensuring that both you and your business remain consistent in all aspects with your customer's WOW experience.
Day 3 - The Transformational Power of Excellence
• How to integrate your expert knowledge and WOW experience to deliver excellence consistently in everything your business touches.
• How to shore up the foundation of your business so that the excellence begins from the roots up.
• How integrating excellence into your business attracts top-notch team members who will be thrilled to run your business for you (and how you can let go enough to let them).
• You will know exactly what excellence looks like in your business and what you need to do to get from where you are to true excellence within months.
• Taking your business to the next level is about building a foundation of excellence into your business; you’ll leave knowing exactly what you need to do (and what you DON’T need to do) to really exude excellence in everything you do.
Are you as excited as we are now for this event?GOOD. Because that's not all we're going to cover. That's just a brief outline of what we're going to deliver. There's not doubt in my mind that anyone who attends this event will walk out of those doors and step back into the workforce with every bit of information, knowledge, strategies and tactics they need to generate however much money they want.

Lessons From The Worst Chinese Restaurant Ever
I am in Miami with my son to see the Miami Dolphins play on
Monday Night Football.
Yesterday, we ate at absolutely the worst Chinese restaurant of
all time. The food was plain, old, and just terrible. This place
was the complete opposite of excellence in action. Besides the
horrific food, I overhead the following interaction between a
staff member and a customer who was placing a take-out order
over the phone:
"No, unless you order soup, we do not give out the little crispy
noodles. Yes, I know when you come into the restaurant they are
on the table and you get them whether you order soup or not but
our policy is to not give them on takeout orders unless you get
soup."
Now, this customer ordered a substantial amount of food for
takeout and this fool would not throw in a bag of noodles that
probably cost twenty-five cents! (I did feel for her, not because
she wasn't going to get her crispy noodles, but rather she was
going to be eating the food she ordered.)
This restaurant simply did not care about their food, their
service, or their customers. And I can make a virtual certain bet
that they won't be in business much longer. Of course, they'll
blame something else rather than themselves.
It is important that our businesses are client-centered and that
our focus is not just on profits but what is best for our clients
who put their trust in us.
A simple but important lesson.
Have a great day.
To your success and fulfillment,

Scholarships: Act Fast!!! (Please share & RT this)
If you qualify, Alexis and I would like to give you
a full scholarship to attend our "Triple X Factors: The Path To Excellence Boot Camp" from October 9-11th in Los Angeles.
Ever since we started promoting the boot camp, we've been
receiving emails from folks who said they would love to
attend and know that the event is going to be worth far
more than the $1,497 tuition BUT simply cannot afford it.
Our goal is to help honest, hardworking business owners
succeed, so Alexis and I decided to set aside ten tickets
to the boot camp and award them as scholarships to business
owners who are having a hard time but have the burning desire
and passion to succeed.
If that is you, you can apply for one of the scholarships by
answering the questions below and emailing them to us at
scholarship@daveandalexis.com no later than Thursday, September
24th at 5;00 PM ET.
Once your application is received, Alexis and I will personally
review it, We will be announcing the ten winners on Friday.
Here are a couple more things you should know before you apply:
First, if you're awarded a scholarship, you will need to put
down a $100 fully refundable deposit. This will be given back
to you immediately when you check in at the boot camp. (Because
seating is limited to just 75 people, we need to make sure that
people who say they are coming, actually show up.)
Second, this scholarship program is for business owners who
really need it. We're not doing this to give tickets to people
who just want to come for free. We are doing this to help people.
So if you are in a financial situation where you can afford the
tuition, please invest in yourself and buy a ticket. This boot
camp is going to be FAR more valuable than the investment to
attend. To register, go to: http://budurl.com/DaveAlexisEvent2009
On the other hand, if you want to come but really can't afford
it, by all means apply for a scholarship.
Okay, I have to get back to working on my presentations for
the boot camp. (You are going to be blown away by what we have
planned for you.)
We look forward to meeting you in person!

P.S., Please remember that your application is due no later than
Thursday, September 24th at 5:00 PM ET. And, with everything
else being equal, priority consideration will be given to
people who get their applications in first. Again, send it to:

They Call Me Dr. Phil...
Last night I got a message from a dude in Indonesia asking me for relationship advice. That was a first for me.
Here is his message, exactly how it was written, with his name removed:
"consider you are in relation with Alexis, that I think a smart woman. so I need your suggestion, how you maintain your relation with the woman you love and she is smart and also bussy ?
I confuse how to make still romantice, because the woman I knew she was work at free port mcmoran an american company operated in Indonesia, become very bussy and she don't have a time to meet even for a short date.
should I cheat on her, because you knew man basically need?thanks for your answer Mr. Dee."
Well, I am far from a relationship expert but I will say I am one helluva boyfriend! :)
My first piece of advice is for this guy to find out even if he is in a relationship with the woman he is talking about. It sounds like their might not be a relationship at all.
If that is the case, going out with another woman is not cheating.
If he is in a relationship with this woman, he needs to determine if it's an exclusive relationship. Have both of them agreed to only date each other? (It doesn't sound it but he should find out.)
If he is in a monogamous relationship then my strongest advice is do not cheat. If he dissatisfied with his relationship he needs have a serious discussion about it with his partner. Cheating, in any form, is destructive and not recommend under any circumstances.
Yes, Alexis is smart and very busy. I am too. To complicate matters, we live on opposite sides of the country. It is working for us but that is not to suggest there aren't bumps in the road. There are.
The worst thing you can do is to try to stifle your partner's growth or hold them back from achieving their dreams. This will only cause resentment.
One of the greatest ways to show your partner that you love them, is through the support and encouragement of their dreams.
However, if the relationship is to last, both people MUST make time to be with each other outside of work. Time alone to have fun, reconnect, make love and laugh - is essential to maintaining a loving relationship.
Now, let me say something controversial:
Most of the time, it's the man's job to make this time alone happen.
Guys, women LOVE it when you plan the entire date - LOVE it. Trust me on this one. Plan a night out with your woman without her having to do a thing except come along for the ride. She will be thrilled.
(Ladies: Occasionally do the same thing for your man. You will make him feel very special.)
Whenever, I'm in California, Alexis and I do at least one, non work related things by ourselves.
Two weeks ago, we went to see The Proclaimers (a band from Scotland.) This trip, we went to a Good Friday prayer service, followed by a beautiful dinner. Of course, then there was my mind blowing birthday. This Wednesday, we are going to see Bruce Springsteen.
Alexis is less than thrilled with this. She is not a fan and this will be her third Springsteen show in two years. But she knows it is important to me and, because of that, sh is going with me.
I do things with her I'm less than thrilled with because they are important to her.
Huge lesson here that applies to your romantic relationship as well as to your interactions with your children:
You do things with the people you love, not necessary because you love what you're doing but rather because you love the person you're doing it with and know it's important to them.
I come from a VERY traditional family and I'm living a very untraditional life with a very busy, very smart, very beautiful, very untraditional girlfriend.
But as with anything else, the fundamentals of having a successful relationship, don't change.
Live a life of passion, purpose and prosperity!

Back to the future
Today, I am writing a detailed report about trends in the marketplace and how your marketing MUST change if you are going to not only survive, but thrive in this changing economy.
The report is not for sale and I will not be releasing it to the general public. I am writing it to only be distributed to my private clients and coaching club members.
But I wanted to give you an overview of what I'm going to be writing about in detail. It is VERY important to your survival as an entrepreneur and business owner.
The main theme of this report is that you MUST go back to the "old school" way of things while incorporating and embracing new marketing methods.
The integration of old school and new school marketing is mission critical. Those not doing this will fail. Period.
For years, I have been preaching that direct mail is king and that still is 100% true. If you are not incorporating direct mail into your marketing system, you are setting yourself up for disaster.
If your business is built around email, I can tell you that the ice underneath your feet is beginning to crack and you are about to plunge into the icy cold waters below. Email deliverability is getting worse by the day and is not going to get better.
If you are focusing exclusively on social media and other Internet marketing vehicles and not doing print advertising, you are making a huge mistake that could be fatal.
I am NOT suggesting that you do not use all the cool and exciting online Internet marketing methods. You should and I am. Hell, I am even on Twitter. You can and should follow me at www.twitter.com/davedee
What I'm suggesting is that you do EVERYTHING you can to bring in business. Now is NOT the time to cut back on your marketing. Now is the time to DOUBLE your efforts.
And the best, most surefire and profitable way to do this is with careful integration of online and offline marketing.
Take what I just wrote to heart. It could save your business.
Kick butt, make mucho dee-nero!
~Dave Dee
PS: Do you know what is one of the most skills you need to possess in order to be successful in your personal as well as professional life? It's persuasion. The ability to persuade and influence is a skill possessed by the most powerful and wealthiest men and women on the planet. I have a persuasion resource so powerful that some people think it should be banned. I'll send you free to check out. Just go to: http://www.davedee.com/psychic

Lessons from the ice...revealed
Yesterday, I posted an account of hockey game I went to, that I said you could glean many business success lessons from. (If you missed that post, you can read it by going to http://www.davedee.com/blog)
A number of folks wrote in with lessons they got from my story and these included:
1. No matter how bleak it seems, never give up.
2. Don't become complacent when things are going well because circumstances can change quickly.
Those are both true but there was a hidden, deeper lesson in the story and here 'tis:
Remember, in the game the Thrashers were up by three goals twice, including in the third period. When the Kings scored the tying goal with five seconds left in the game, you could see how deflated the Thrashers players became. (What you didn't know was that the boys from Atlanta had played the night before and were dead tired.)
Their coach, smartly called a timeout minutes into overtime. I don't know what he said to the team but whatever it was, it energized them and helped them reach down deep inside to give more, even though they didn't think they had anything left to give.
What all my subscribers missed, was that the Thrashers ended up WINNING the game. They could have easily given up after the Kings tied it. They could have believed that they couldn't give anymore or play any harder but they didn't...they pushed themselves, despite setbacks and disappointments and in the end, were successful.
And that is how it is in life and business. There are going to the highest of the highs and the lowest of the lows. . There are times when things are going to be going well and then, all of a sudden, you'll be struggling and things are not going to go well.
They key is to never give up. To keep on keeping on. Give a little bit more and then give some more. If you do that, in the end, you will succeed.
Kick butt, make mucho dee-nero!

PS: I have 15 sets left of my secret, underground DVDs that I am willing to send to you to check out, for nada. Not even a penny. Check it out at http://www.davedee.com/underground

What a game....What a lesson...
Last night I went to see my beloved Atlanta Thrashers play the Los Angeles Kings here in LA.
Me and this one other kid were the only Thrashers fan in the entire place! It was weird being the only person in the place cheering when the Thrashers scored...which was a lot.
The game was intense and a number of important business success strategies could be gleaned from it.
The Thrashers started with three quick goals and, my friend who I was with at his first hockey game, said "Man, this game is over."
I told him it really wasn't...and boy was I right.
The Kings came within a goal of tying the game in the second period.
In the third period, the Thrashers scored twice quickly to go up by three goals again. And again, my friend said, "This game is over."
Again, I told him it really wasn't.
The Kings scored and then scored again.
They are down by one goal with 10 seconds left on the clock. 9-8-7-6-5....SCORE! Yep, with five ticks left on the clock, they ties the game.
I am bummin' and my friend can't believe it.
Now, I start telling my friend that the Kings are going to win in overtime, that they have all the momentum and that the Thrashers are spent.
Well, I was WRONG. The Thrashers ended up winning the game.
Can you discern all of the life and business success lessons from this game? Post what you think they are on my blog at www.davedee.com/blog
Tomorrow, I'll tell ya the lessons I learned.

Man sets self on fire
Most business owners are timid, weak and wimpy.
They dream small, uninspiring dreams. They move forward with caution and trepidation. They lack the "I'm going to kick ass," fire in the belly mentality needed for massive success.
They don't believe that they are the best at what they do and that any prospect who hires someone else is a fool. (How'bout you, do you believe that or do you believe your competitors do just a good of a job as you?)
When I decided to become a full time professional magician,I started out by primarily focusing on do kid's birthday parties.
First, I studied my butt off and developed a really great show. I wanted to make sure my product was excellent.
Then, I did some massive marketing. My marketing was better than any of my competitors by a long shot. Because of this,I started booking a lot of shows. Of course, the more shows I did, the better I got and my confidence grew.
I then realized that I was the BEST at what I did. I truly believed that. When someone would call about my services they knew they were talking to someone who believed in the product he was selling.
I NEVER had to put a competitor down and never did. I KNEW that everyone else was not at my level and that if someone wanted to hire the BEST, I was their only choice. This feeling came through without me actually ever having to saying it. It was simply felt and understood by my prospects.
You might think that this was being cocky and arrogant...and you'd be right...but I also firmly believed that it was the TRUTH.
How do you feel about yourself and what you're offering? Do you feel as strongly as I did. If not, it's holding you back.
Kick butt, make mucho dee-nero!
~Dave Dee
P.S. By the way, getting all pumped up and building your confidence is of extreme importance if you want to succeed BUT it is not the only thing. You need to have superior marketing if you want to kick you competitor's tails. If you were sitting across from me right now, I'd look you squarely in the eye and tell you this, "The best marketing course on the planet, that'll instantly help you improve your businesses is Your Marketing Department In A Box. It's not the marketing, dummy
Didja watch the Super Bowl? Pretty darn good. Next year will be even better when the Miami Dolphins are in it. :)
Today, I'm going to tell you a true story that happened to a friend of mine. This story illustrates a vitally important mistake that almost all business owners make, that is costing them money and that is probably costing YOU money.
My friend received a beautiful direct mail piece that was selling a particular type of cosmetic medical procedure. The brochure was first class and certainly cost a pretty penny. The procedure was something that my friend had been wanting to do as well.
Everything was perfect: The message was delivered to the right prospect at the right time.
My friend called the number to get more information and got an answering machine. This, in and of itself was not too bad although having someone answer the phone live would have been a good idea...especially at the price point of this service. My friend leaves a message and hangs up.
No one returns the call that day. Day two rolls around and still no call. Surely, on day three someone will return the call from a hot, qualified prospect, right? Wrong. In fact,
no one EVER returned the call!
Let me tell you what the idiot business owner is going to say when he looks at his numbers: "Ah, I knew it. This direct mail marketing stuff is a big waste of money. It doesn't work."
A big problem facing most business owners is not that their marketing doesn't work. It's that their follow-up system doesn't work. If Susie who answers your phone is a moron, it doesn't matter how good your marketing is.
Of course, every business owner thinks, "That's not the case in my business. My business is different." To the person that thinks that, all I can say is "Good luck."
Kick butt, make mucho dee-nero!
~Dave Dee
P.S. Are you getting enough qualified leads inquiring about your services every day? If not, your business is slowly dying and you might not even know it. Leads are the lifeblood of your business. Discover how you can generate more leads in a month than you now do all year by going to:
